Electric forklift rental – efficiency without local emissions for your warehouse
Noise, exhaust fumes, expensive diesel: three reasons why electrically powered forklifts are now standard in halls, cold zones and sensitive production areas. At Luibl Rental & Sales you rent electric forklifts with load capacities from 1.5 to 10 tonnes – throughout the Netherlands and Europe, available at short notice and with a valid periodic inspection. Our rental fleet covers agile three-wheel machines as well as four-wheel heavy-duty machines for yard use.

Why rent an electric forklift instead of diesel?
Operation without local emissions: No combustion fumes, so unrestricted use in enclosed halls, cold stores and areas with food or pharmaceutical production. Applicable Dutch health and safety rules require harmful exhaust fumes to be avoided in enclosed spaces – electric forklifts meet this requirement without additional measures.
-
Lower operating costs per operating hour: At current energy prices, electricity is clearly cheaper than diesel. Maintenance costs are also lower, as there are no oil changes, timing belts or exhaust after-treatment.
-
Less noise: In indoor use, an electric motor stays well below the sound pressure level of a diesel drive. This reduces noise exposure for your staff and is often the deciding factor for night shifts or work near residential areas.
Typical applications for electric forklifts: food industry, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, automotive supply logistics, trade fairs and exhibition halls, deep-freeze stores, production buildings with closed ventilation.
Our rental fleet – the right solution for every job
Luibl operates a segmented fleet of electric forklifts covering every requirement profile, from the agile compact three-wheeler to the 10-tonne heavyweight.
3-wheel electric forklifts – maximum manoeuvrability in the tightest spaces
The three-wheel design noticeably reduces the turning radius and is the first choice for narrow aisles, tight racking blocks and dense storage layouts. Typical models in the Luibl rental fleet:
-
Hyundai 15BT-9 – 1,500 kg load capacity, 5.50 m lift height
-
EP CPD18TV8 – 1,800 kg load capacity, 4.80 m or 6.00 m lift height
-
Hyundai 18BT-9 – 1,800 kg load capacity, 5.50 m lift height
-
Maximal Forklift FB20S-MJZ – 2,000 kg load capacity, 4.50 m lift height
Tip: three-wheelers show their strength in aisles with a working width below 3.20 m. For wider aisles and heavier loads, a four-wheel model is the better choice.
4-wheel electric forklifts – stability and power for heavy loads
Four-wheel forklifts offer greater stability for loads from approx. 2 tonnes and cope better with light yard use on firm ground. Selected models:
-
EP EFL181 – 1,800 kg, 4.80 m lift height (compact entry model)
-
EP CPD20L1 / CPD20L1-Li – 2,000 kg, 4.70–6.00 m (Li-ion version available)
-
EP EFL302 Triplex Mast – 3,000 kg, 4.80 m (triplex mast for high free lift)
-
Hyundai 30BH-9 – 3,000 kg, 6.00 m
-
EP EFL352 – 3,500 kg, 4.80 m or 6.00 m
-
Hyundai 50B-9 – 5,000 kg, 5.90 m
-
EP CPD50F8 / CPD50F8 Li – 5,000 kg, 5.00–6.00 m (lithium-ion)
-
Kalmar ECF 80-9 – 8,000 kg, 3.45 m (industrial heavy-duty)
-
EP EFL 1002 – 10,000 kg, 5.00 m (top segment of electric heavy-duty forklifts)
Tip: the 8- and 10-tonne machines are mainly used in container handling, steel construction supply and plant logistics – wherever diesel machines are ruled out because of indoor operation.
Technical highlights of our rental machines
Lithium-ion or lead-acid – which battery technology fits?
In multi-shift operation, the choice of battery technology largely determines productivity.
-
Lead-acid batteries are the proven, cost-effective option for single- and two-shift operation. They are charged overnight after the shift. Advantage: low rental price, sufficient for 6–8 hours of continuous operation. Disadvantage: longer charging times, opportunity charging not recommended, a battery charging room must be set up.
-
Lithium-ion batteries (e.g. in the EP CPD20L1-Li or CPD50F8 Li) allow opportunity charging: a short charge during the lunch break is often enough for another shift. Advantage: 24/7 operation possible, no separate battery room, no gassing. Disadvantage: higher rental price, but almost always more economical in three-shift operation.
For three-shift operation we generally recommend Li-ion or, alternatively, a second lead-acid battery with a change frame. Our team will be happy to advise you on the right configuration for your shift pattern.
Mast types – duplex, triplex and free lift
The mast determines up to what height and under which door dimensions the forklift can be used.
-
Duplex mast: two-stage, standard design. Suitable for lift heights up to approx. 3.50 m without free lift requirement.
-
Triplex mast: three-stage with initial free lift. Ideal for unloading containers or loading lorries through low doors. The forks can be raised without the mast extending.
-
Initial free lift: decisive when you work under a hall door or a ceiling with limited height. Models such as the EP EFL302 with triplex mast offer clear advantages here.
Residual load capacity – the often overlooked factor
The rated load capacity applies only at a standard load centre (usually 500 mm) and low lift height. At maximum lift height, the residual load capacity drops by 20–40 % depending on the model. Important: always plan your loads against the load chart of the specific machine – not against the advertised rated load. Our advisers will send you the relevant data sheet on request.
Tyres and floor protection
Our electric forklifts are fitted with non-marking solid tyres as standard. They leave no black abrasion marks – a must in food plants, clean rooms and representative showrooms. For hybrid use alternating between hall and paved yard, this tyre type is standard at Luibl.
Case study – seasonal peaks in food logistics
On a major project in the food industry, we secured multi-shift operation over several weeks during the Christmas season. The challenge: 24/7 operation in a deep-freeze store where diesel and gas forklifts are ruled out by design. The solution: lithium-ion electric forklifts with opportunity charging plus spare batteries on standby. Result: no unplanned downtime, full performance across all shifts. Technical support was provided by our service technicians, who were able to respond promptly.
Safety, inspection and insurance
All Luibl rental forklifts are inspected under the Working Conditions Decree, Chapter 7 (work equipment) before every rental and delivered with a valid inspection sticker. For long-term rentals, we carry out the periodic inspections during the rental period.
Operator qualification: for forklifts, the employer must ensure the demonstrable competence of the forklift operator. We provide an operator briefing on handover.
Insurance: we optionally offer a liability reduction for your rental machines. Terms in the quote.
