Electric telehandlers combine the load capacity and reach of classic telehandlers with a quiet drive without local emissions. Luibl Rental rents out models such as the Manitou MT 625e as well as Twin-Energy machines from Magni, which run on electric or diesel power depending on the job. With our own low-loader fleet, we deliver throughout the Netherlands directly to your site.

Lithium-ion drive compared with the diesel engine

Switching to electric drive in telehandlers affects not only the motor but the entire drive and hydraulic architecture. Battery management and the charging cycles of the lithium-ion systems used are decisive for operation. Unlike lead-acid batteries, modern lithium-ion batteries enable:

  • opportunity charging during work breaks without a memory effect
  • constant power output with full torque regardless of the state of charge
  • lower maintenance, as there is no need to top up battery water

Another technical difference lies in the hydraulics: while the hydraulic pump in diesel machines often runs at idle, an electric telehandler only consumes energy when it is actually travelling, lifting or rotating. This increases net operating time per charge and lowers operating costs.

Battery capacity, charging time and charging connections

Specific battery and charging data are decisive for planning a job. Battery capacity, charging time, available charging connections and charging power vary depending on the model and application. Luibl Rental advises on the right configuration for single-shift and multi-shift operation and coordinates the charging infrastructure on site with you. Twin-Energy models, such as those used in the Magni RTH series, also have an auxiliary diesel drive. This allows switching between electric and diesel operation depending on the location – for example electric in the hall and diesel for longer journeys on outdoor areas, without the need for a second machine.

Main applications for electric telehandlers

Electric telehandlers are now specifically requested in many tenders. Luibl Rental serves three sectors in particular:

Main applications: where electric solutions have no alternative

The use of electric telehandlers is now mandatory in many tenders. Luibl Rental serves three core sectors in particular:

Indoor logistics and factory halls

In enclosed halls, for example in the food industry or the pharmaceutical sector, exhaust fumes are an exclusion criterion. An electric telehandler enables racking installation and maintenance on ceiling structures without impairing the air quality in the hall. Quiet operation also reduces the noise burden for other staff in the hall.

Tunnel construction and car park renovation

In areas with limited ventilation, companies using electric machines save investment and operating costs for large extraction systems. The compact design of many electric models also makes it easier to work under height restrictions.

Night work and urban areas

Local noise rules in city centres often restrict the use of noisy machines in the evening and at night. Electric telehandlers from Luibl Rental operate quietly and thus make it easier to comply with local noise limits on multi-shift jobs.

Selection criteria for the right model

Electric telehandlers are particularly suitable for halls, tunnels, inner-city sites and other emission- or noise-sensitive environments. When choosing the right model, load capacity, lift height, reach, machine dimensions, battery capacity, charging connection and planned duration of use are decisive. Luibl Rental supports the technical selection of equipment and organises delivery throughout the Netherlands and across Europe on request.

Performance and roto functionality

Electric telehandlers now achieve load capacities of 5 tonnes and more and, with booms of up to 26 metres lift height, cover a large share of industrial installation work. Integrating 360° rotation into electric machines requires loss-free energy transfer through the slewing ring. Luibl Rental relies on slip ring technology in the roto models from Magni in its fleet.

Cost-effectiveness in rental

Renting an electric telehandler offers several economic advantages:

  • electricity costs per operating hour are often lower than the fuel costs of a comparable diesel machine
  • lower maintenance: no engine oil filter changes, no AdBlue aftertreatment
  • using machines without local emissions supports sustainability reporting, for example in public tenders

Safety and certification

Electric telehandlers from Luibl Rental have the same safety systems as their diesel counterparts, supplemented by battery-specific monitoring:

  • digital load moment indicator (LMI) with real-time stability monitoring
  • integrated diagnostics that detect voltage drops or thermal anomalies in the battery pack and initiate protective measures
  • inspection of all electrical components under the Working Conditions Decree, Chapter 7 (work equipment)

FAQ: electric telehandler rental

chevronDown

How long do electric telehandlers run on one battery charge?

The operating time per charge depends on battery capacity, type of use and load profile. Because electric telehandlers only consume energy when they are actually moving, the net operating time is often higher than with diesel machines that idle. Luibl Rental advises on the right choice of model for your specific shift pattern.

What is a Twin-Energy telehandler?

Twin-Energy models have an electric drive and an additional diesel drive in one machine. You can switch depending on the work location, for example electric in the hall and diesel for longer outdoor work.

What requirements apply for indoor use in halls?

For use in halls, machine dimensions, turning circle and ground clearance are particularly relevant. Luibl Rental checks with you which model suits the spatial conditions of your hall.

How is delivery of electric telehandlers organised?

Luibl Rental delivers with its own low-loader fleet directly to the site throughout the Netherlands.
