Forklift rental - electric, diesel, LPG and rough-terrain up to 18 tonnes

Efficiently moving goods and heavy loads is the backbone of every successful logistics chain. When you rent a forklift from Luibl Rental, you rely on a modern fleet tailored precisely to the requirements of industry, trades and warehousing. Our forklift rental includes counterbalance forklifts with different drive concepts, rough-terrain forklifts for unpaved ground, heavy-duty forklifts for load capacities well above ten tonnes and stackers for warehouse operations - in load capacity classes ranging from small trade businesses to heavy industry.

Which forklift do you need? Four questions to decide

Our forklift rental covers load capacities from small trade businesses to well above ten tonnes. Four questions narrow down the right class:

  1. Indoors or outdoors? In halls, warehouses and production, the electric forklift works without local emissions and with low noise. For tough outdoor use with power reserves and no charging breaks, the diesel forklift is the more robust choice. If you need to cover both, the LPG forklift is the usual compromise.

  2. How firm is the ground? On gravel, soil or construction sites you need the rough-terrain forklift with four-wheel drive, coarse tread and more ground clearance. An indoor forklift loses traction there.

  3. How heavy and how bulky is the load? Beyond the usual classes, the heavy-duty forklift takes over. Weight is not the only factor: the rated capacity refers to a load centre of 500 mm - with deeper loads, the actual capacity decreases.

  4. Is it about stacking in the warehouse rather than transport? Then the stacker is the more compact and economical solution than a counterbalance forklift.

Tell us the weight and dimensions of the load, the required lift height and the ceiling height at the location - we will then recommend the right load capacity class and supply the load chart at the same time.

Choosing the right drive: electric, diesel or LPG forklift

When deciding which forklift to rent, the operating environment plays the decisive role. Luibl Rental helps you find the most economical and technically sensible solution for your specific needs.

Electric forklifts are the first choice for indoor use in warehouses or production facilities. They work without local emissions and with low noise, which greatly improves occupational safety in enclosed spaces. Thanks to modern battery technology (lithium-ion or lead-acid), our electric forklifts achieve operating times that can withstand intensive shift work. A particular advantage at Luibl Rental: many of our electric models are fitted with non-marking tyres (white tyres) to avoid abrasion marks on light-coloured industrial floors.

For tough outdoor use on construction sites or uneven terrain, we recommend renting diesel forklifts. They stand out for enormous power reserves and high availability, as no time-consuming charging is required. Our modern diesel forklifts are fitted with efficient particulate filters to reduce particulate emissions. If you need to cover both indoor and outdoor areas flexibly, LPG forklifts are a powerful alternative that bridges the drive types. On unpaved ground, gravel or in earthworks, rough-terrain forklifts with four-wheel drive and coarse tread are the right choice - they bring loads where an indoor forklift would get stuck.

Technical precision: load centre and lifting capacity

A critical factor in forklift rental that is often underestimated is the relationship between load and load centre. The stated rated capacity of a forklift (e.g. 2.5 tonnes) usually refers to a load centre of 500 mm.

However, when you lift bulky goods, this centre of gravity shifts forward, reducing the actual residual capacity. At Luibl Rental you receive the corresponding load charts with every rental machine. Our experts advise you exactly which model you need if, for example, you have to move 3 tonnes on a special pallet with a load centre distance of 1,200 mm. This technical depth protects you against accidents and planning errors.

Maximum flexibility with specialised attachments

To extend the range of applications of our forklifts, we offer a wide variety of attachments that increase your efficiency:

  • Side shifters: allow exact positioning of the load without manoeuvring the forklift itself - ideal in narrow racking aisles.

  • Fork positioners: hydraulically adjust the width of the forks to different pallet types.

  • Load jibs and crane hooks: temporarily turn your forklift into a lifting device for suspended loads.

  • Double pallet forks: double the handling capacity in the logistics centre by picking up two pallets at once.

Practical example: heavy-duty logistics in industry

In a recent case study, Luibl Rental supported an industrial company with a machine relocation. A heavy-duty forklift with a load capacity of 12 tonnes was used. The challenge was to position sensitive production units in a cramped existing hall with millimetre precision.

Thanks to the combination of sensitive hydrostatic steering and expert advice from Luibl Rental, the project was completed within the tight time window without downtime. Such scenarios show that choosing the right rental machine directly affects project success.

Industry-specific solutions: from event logistics to the food industry

Every industry has its own requirements, which we meet at Luibl Rental:

  • Events and trade fairs: compact forklifts with a small turning radius for fast set-up and dismantling in exhibition halls.

  • Food industry: use of electric forklifts with bio-oils and hygienic standards.

  • Construction: all-terrain forklifts with four-wheel drive that operate safely even on gravel and mud.

Safety and maintenance: your protection at Luibl Rental

The safety of your employees has top priority. Every forklift you rent from us undergoes a strict check before delivery. We guarantee that all machines have a valid periodic inspection of work equipment under the Working Conditions Decree and comply with current safety standards.

In addition, we recommend the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and point out that when operating a forklift on company premises in the Netherlands, the demonstrable competence of the forklift operator must be ensured by the employer. Luibl Rental stands for transparency: we document all maintenance intervals in full, so you can rely on the dependability of the equipment. This documentation is part of our forklift rental and not a paid add-on package.

What does it cost to rent a forklift?

The rental price for forklifts depends less on the manufacturer than on four technical factors - and on the rental period:

  • Load capacity: There are several price classes between a 1.5-tonne electric forklift for the warehouse and a heavy-duty forklift with an 18-tonne load capacity.
  • Drive: Electric, diesel and LPG forklifts differ in purchase and running costs. Rough-terrain forklifts with four-wheel drive cost more than comparable indoor machines.
  • Lift height and mast type: Free lift, triplex mast or special overall heights for low ceilings affect the rate.
  • Attachments: Side shifter, fork positioner, bale clamp or work basket are calculated separately.
  • Rental period: Daily, weekly and monthly rates are tiered. For seasonal peaks, stocktaking or projects lasting several months, we calculate individual long-term terms.

Included are an inspected machine with valid periodic inspection, the load charts for the machine, maintenance during the rental period and technical advice. Transport is shown separately and depends on machine weight and location. Tell us the load, load centre, lift height, operating environment and rental period - and you will receive a reliable, itemised quote.

Is short-term rental possible at Luibl Rental?

Yes, we offer maximum flexibility. You can rent forklifts from us for single days (daily rental), weeks or as a long-term rental for several months. Contact us during our business hours (Mon-Fri, 08:00-17:00) for a tailored quote.

Which technical data are important when choosing a forklift?

When renting, pay attention to the maximum load capacity, the required lift height and the dead weight of the forklift. Luibl Rental provides detailed data sheets for every model so that the machine is optimally matched to the structural conditions of your site.

Do I have to organise the transport of the forklift myself?

No, Luibl Rental handles the complete logistics for you. We deliver the rented forklift on special low-loaders directly to your site or warehouse - throughout the Netherlands and at the agreed time.

What does it cost to rent a forklift?

Rental costs depend on the load capacity, rental period and drive type. Luibl Rental will be happy to prepare an individual quote tailored exactly to your project.

Is an electric forklift suitable for outdoor use?

For paved outdoor areas and short distances, yes - many models are designed for this. Over longer periods, in wet conditions or on unpaved ground, however, electric forklifts reach their limits. Diesel or LPG forklifts are then the more robust choice, and for genuine rough terrain the rough-terrain forklift with all-wheel drive. For mixed indoor and outdoor use, the LPG forklift is the usual compromise.

What load capacity do I need for my load?

The rated capacity of a forklift usually refers to a load centre of 500 mm. As soon as your load is deeper, the centre of gravity shifts forward and the actual capacity decreases. For the selection we therefore need not only the weight, but also the dimensions of the load and the required lift height. On this basis we will name the right capacity class.

Can I rent a forklift with an attachment?

Yes. Common attachments are side shift, fork positioner, bale clamp and work platform. Attachments are priced separately. Note that every attachment increases the dead weight and shifts the load centre - which reduces the residual load capacity. We supply the appropriate load chart for every combination.

Which forklift is suitable for unpaved ground?

On gravel, soil or construction sites, the rough-terrain forklift is used. It has four-wheel drive, coarse tyres and more ground clearance than a warehouse machine. A classic counterbalance forklift with smooth tyres is not designed for this - it loses traction and can only be moved safely to a limited extent on uneven ground.

What is the difference between daily, weekly and monthly forklift rental?

The rates are tiered: the longer the term, the lower the effective daily rate. Daily or weekly rental is intended for short peaks - stocktaking, seasonal business, failure of your own machine. If a project runs for several months, we calculate individual long-term terms that include maintenance and periodic inspections during the rental period.

Do staff need a special licence?

To operate a forklift safely, demonstrable competence of the forklift operator is required (to be ensured by the employer). Luibl Rental attaches great importance to safety and will be happy to advise you on the requirements for your rental period.
