Manitou telehandler rental: fixed, roto and heavy-duty from a single source
Since 1981, Manitou has set the standard for telehandlers in construction, industry and agriculture with its Maniscopic range. Luibl Rental rents out the complete Manitou telehandler portfolio throughout the Netherlands — from compact MT models with a load capacity from 2.5 tonnes to the heavy-duty MHT class with 25 tonnes of lifting capacity and roto MRT models with a lift height of up to 35 metres. Availability at short notice and integrated periodic inspection of work equipment under the Working Conditions Decree make your request straightforward. Choose the type that suits your site — we deliver by low-loader to your site with our own low-loader fleet.
What types of Manitou telehandlers are there?
Manitou divides its telehandler portfolio into four clearly defined types. Which variant is suitable depends on three factors: load capacity, required reach and operating environment.
-
Fixed telehandlers (MT series) — The boom is fixed to the chassis and the load is picked up at the front. High stability even without outriggers, linear power delivery when moving the load forwards. MT models cover lift heights from 4 to 18 metres and load capacities between 2 and 4 tonnes. The classic choice for construction, logistics and building applications with changing pick-up points. → Manitou fixed telehandlers
-
Roto telehandlers (MRT series) — The superstructure rotates continuously through 360 degrees on the undercarriage. Loads are positioned precisely without having to move the chassis. This saves time, protects the ground and reduces travel movements in the danger zone. MRT Vision Plus with RFID attachment recognition, lift heights up to 35 metres, load capacities up to 7 tonnes. → Manitou roto telehandlers
-
Heavy-duty telehandlers (MHT series) — Mining and Heavy Telehandler, designed for loads from 10 tonnes. Reinforced booms, hydrostatic all-wheel drive, three steering modes, ability to travel under full load. Models such as the MHT 10120 (12 t), MHT 10200 (20 t) and MHT 11250 (25 t) are the choice for steel construction, port handling, mining and bridge building. → View the Manitou MHT 11250
-
Electric telehandlers — Lithium-ion battery, no local emissions, low noise. Models such as the MT 625e bring the performance of the diesel version to halls, food and pharmaceutical environments, hospitals and inner-city sites with noise and emission restrictions. → Electric telehandlers
Manitou telescopic wheel loaders (MLA range) and agricultural MLT models complete the portfolio in agricultural technology — available through Luibl on request.

What are Manitou telehandlers used for?
Four sectors dominate rental demand. The right choice of model depends on load capacity, lift height and terrain requirements — the following assignments are the most common practical scenarios.
-
Building construction and structural work — Supplying floors with bricks, mortar silos, steel beams and precast elements. Standard machines: MT 1440 (14 m) and MT 1840 (18 m) for buildings up to six storeys, MRT 2150 (21 m) for high-rise projects with rotating load positioning.
-
Industrial assembly — Plant construction, facade installation, steel hall construction, power plant projects. With a work platform, the MRT series becomes a heavy-duty aerial work platform — the required operator competence in line with applicable Dutch health and safety rules must be demonstrable here. RFID attachment recognition automatically adjusts the load chart when tools are changed.
-
Mining, steel construction and heavy industry — Moving coils, steel plates and machine assemblies beyond the 10-tonne limit. The MHT series is the market leader in the heavy-duty telehandler segment. The MHT 10200 (20 t) and MHT 11250 (25 t) replace space-consuming heavy cranes with outriggers in many cases.
-
Agriculture and recycling — Agricultural MLT models (with Stage V engine and greater reach than the standard MT) for farm operations, silage, manure and straw logistics. Available through Luibl on request — contact our dispatch team directly.
Attachments for Manitou telehandlers
The real strength of a Manitou telehandler lies in its combination with the right attachment. The quick-change system (E-Reco) automatically recognises the coupled tool and loads the appropriate load chart — a safety advantage, especially for MRT models where tools are frequently changed during operation.
-
Pallet forks and load forks — Classic pallet transport in building construction and logistics. Optionally with side shift and fork positioner.
-
Load hooks and winches — Turn the telehandler into a mobile crane. The PT lattice jib winch is ideal for lifting loads over obstacles or roof overhangs.
-
Personnel work platforms — Up to 1,000 kg platform load, usable as a heavy-duty aerial work platform. Requirements: personal fall protection, platform briefing and the required operator competence for MRT.
-
Buckets — Bulk material handling for gardening and landscaping, earthworks and recycling yards.
-
Vacuum lifters — Combined with MRT models, the first choice for modern glass and facade construction.
-
Cylinder and pipe clamps, tyre handlers, positioners — Special attachments for industrial assembly, port handling and tyre service.
What competence do you need for a Manitou telehandler?
The operation of telehandlers is subject to clearly defined requirements from Dutch occupational health and safety legislation (Working Conditions Act and Working Conditions Decree), the Working Conditions Decree, Chapter 7 (work equipment) and the EU Machinery Directive. Knowing the requirements well helps avoid fines, exclusion from insurance cover and - above all - accidents.
-
Operator competence · The employer ensures the demonstrable competence of the operator in line with applicable Dutch health and safety rules. For fixed telehandlers (MT series), roto MRT models and use with a work platform as an aerial work platform, the operator must be demonstrably competent for the type of machine concerned.
-
Fall protection in the platform · When using a personnel work platform, personal fall protection is needed (work at height under the Working Conditions Decree). It absorbs the whip effect in the event of an unexpected platform swing — a sudden boom movement without fall protection can cause the operator to be thrown from the platform.
-
Periodic inspection · All Manitou rental machines at Luibl undergo periodic inspection of work equipment under the Working Conditions Decree (hydraulics, safety systems, stability, load moment limiter). The inspection is valid on delivery; for long-term rentals, Luibl carries out the follow-up inspection at no extra charge.
-
Stage V engines · Current MT, MRT and MHT models are equipped with Stage V diesel engines in accordance with EU Regulation 2016/1628 — a prerequisite for use in emission-monitored industrial zones and municipal low-emission zones.
-
Machine-specific briefing · In addition to basic competence, every operator must be briefed on the specific rental machine — load chart, JSM joystick assignment, emergency lowering, outrigger operation. Luibl offers this briefing with every machine delivery.
The operator briefing on handover takes place when the rental machine is delivered — at your site.
In the Netherlands, Dutch occupational health and safety legislation (Working Conditions Act and Working Conditions Decree) applies; the employer ensures the required operator competence in line with applicable Dutch health and safety rules.
What does a Manitou telehandler from the rental fleet cost?
The daily rate depends on type, lift height, load capacity and rental period. Three cost factors are key:
-
Type and model class — Compact fixed MT models (MT 625, MT 930) have the lowest daily rate. Standard building models (MT 1440, MT 1840) are in the mid-range. Roto telehandlers (MRT 2150 to MRT 3570) are significantly more expensive due to their greater complexity and lift height. Heavy-duty MHT models form the top price segment, often with an individual project price.
-
Rental period — Daily rental (1–3 days) has the highest daily rate. Weekly rental reduces it noticeably. Long-term rental from three months includes periodic inspection, maintenance and in some cases a refuelling service in the price, bringing the daily rate down to industrial level.
-
Delivery and attachments — Delivered by low-loader to your site. Attachments (load hook, personnel platform, winch, vacuum lifter) are charged separately as a flat rate.
After your request you will promptly receive a specific quote — including inspection status, delivery date and briefing option. → Check availability · Get in touch
